One of our active competitive boxers Katie O’Connor recently qualified as a GB Boxing Tutor and will be delivering our GB boxing awards programme for kids aged 8 and upwards. The first three Awards (Preliminary, Standard and Bronze) are all non-contact and can be used in clubs for new members. Non-contact parts of Awards can be taught by standalone GB boxing tutors and cover boxing basics. The remaining three Awards (Silver, Gold and Platinum) involve technique development in modified sparring and must be coached in a club with a ring and qualified boxing coach.  The Platinum Award takes the boxer into a ring with a skills bout, allowing the boxer to demonstrate the skills, fitness and ability they’ve learnt while completing all six of the GB National Boxing Awards.

Each award level takes around 8 weeks and candidates will be provided with a GB Boxing Awards certificate and medal on completion. Prices, start dates and times will be confirmed shortly, however we will be running a free taster session on Monday 27th September at 6-6.45pm. Please get in touch with Simon or Katie to reserve a place.
