Outside of the Gym
Running
Our competitive squad are expected to maintain their fitness and weight during the season. This means running a minimum of twice per week as well as attending two circuit sessions. Interval sprints are preferred for fitness whilst long, slow recovery runs can help with making weight.
Kit and Equipment
Gloves / Hand wraps / Tops etc
The club provide gloves for new starters and hand wraps can be purchased from the club. Gumshields/mouthguards can be purchased from Sportsdirect or Amazon. Beartown club shirts, vests, hoodies etc can be ordered via the club or directly from DP sports on Bromley Road. For any equipment advice please speak to one of our coaches.
What to Expect
Example Workout
A typical session would involve a 10 minute warmup followed by a 35-40 minute bodyweight, bag or equipment circuit split into rounds. Equipment might involve battle ropes, medicine balls, dumbells, jump boxes etc. Finally tech work either on pads, bags or with a partner.
